SASO - SOCIAL AWARENESS SERVICE ORGANISATION

Since its establishment in 1991 by a small group of optimistic ex-drug users, SASO - Social Awareness Service Organization - Manipur has came a long way to become one of the premium Peer Led organization fighting against the menace of drug use and HIV/AIDS through inexorable awareness campaigns and other voluntary services.
Everything in today’s world has become globalize and the issue of drugs and HIV/AIDS is no exception. So we felt the need to find a rudimentary medium for SASO – Imphal to go global. Bearing this in mind we are launching www.sasoimphal.org in order to present a clear and authentic image of a ‘globalize’ SASO - Social Awareness Service Organization, Imphal

Through www.sasoimphal.org, we also hope to gain a more direct and consistent medium of interactions and exchange of ideas, experiences and other information with other organizations or individuals. So, your feedbacksare a rudiment part of our improvement.

VISION

SASO to become a lead and reference organization in the area of prevention of HIV among IDU, provision of care, universal access to treatment and support (including nutrition to PLHA and in the area of creating productive, healthy and supportive environment among IDU, PLHA and their families.

MISSION

To build sustainable models for prevention of HIV among IDU and and to provide care and support for PLHA and their families adopting a rights based approach using multi pronged and multi sector involvement through advocacy, partnership and capacity building for an increased level of activity in the North East state of India.
